Huawei said their premium watch would be here in Q3 2015, and sure enough it’s popped up on Amazon for you to pre-order. The watch is showing an exciting September 2nd release date and a not-so-exciting price tag of $350.

That said, you should know this is being touted as a super premium smart watch. The base model comes with a nice stainless steel finish and real leather bands, as well as sapphire glass to make sure the thing can’t be scratched under normal usage.

Oh, and did we tell you this thing gets expensive as all hell for the nicer variants? Here’s what you can choose between:

  • Stainless Steel with Black Suture Leather Strap for $350
  • Black Stainless Steel with Black Stainless Steel Link Band for $450
  • Gold Plated Stainless Steel with Brown Suture Leather Strap for $700
  • Gold Plated Stainless Steel with Gold Plated Stainless Steel Link Band for $800

It ain’t cheap to look good, folks. One other very interesting revelation from the Amazon listing: Huawei says the Huawei Watch will be compatible with Android 4.3 or higher and iOS 8.2 or higher. To our knowledge, Google has yet to formally introduce iOS support to Android Wear, though we know they’ve been working on it. Will we see it launch alongside the Huawei Watch’s arrival? We’ll just have to wait and see, or hope we happen upon some spilled beans ahead of the device’s arrival.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
