Verizon rolls out Gear VR update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Gear VR update

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 being the only device compatible with Samsung’s new Gear VR virtual-reality headset, it only makes sense we’d see an update of some sort hitting the phablet. Today, Verizon has begun pushing out a small over-the-air update to the handset which, in addition to bringing the usual bug fixes and improvements, allows the device to play nice with the Samsung Gear VR.

It was only yesterday the Samsung Gear VR became available to eager developers looking to cash-in on the future of video game peripherals via Samsung’s site, but quickly became back ordered. At $200, it wasn’t really a bad deal (even if it’s only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4). Those still interested can keep an eye on the listing at either Samsung or AT&T for stock to return.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.
