Earlier this month the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was announced at IFA. The Note line has done very well for Samsung, and this latest model is yet another improvement. Today Samsung has announced that pre-orders for the Note 4 will begin tomorrow, September 19th. Tomorrow also happens to be launch day for Apple’s new iPhone 6 Plus phablet. Coincidence? We think not.

Here’s a refresher on what the Note 4 has to offer:

  • 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED HD display
  • 2.7GHz quad-core processor
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 32GB of internal storage, microSD up to 128GB
  • 16 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilizer, 3.7 megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture
  • 3,220mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat

Pricing will be announced tomorrow by each carrier. The Galaxy Note 4 will begin shipping almost a month from now on October 17th. Will you be pre-ordering the Note 4 tomorrow? Check out our hands-on video before you do!

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.

  1. Not a fan of these announce early and release a lot later tactics. Kills any hype shortly following the reveal

    1. So you must hate the Moto 360…

      1. I do. It is such a waste of money and its all hype.

About the note 4, yeah samsung should have released it earlier, the 6+ and the 6 is gonna hurt the note 4 big time.

        1. You think the iPhone 6 and + are going to hurt big time? I kinda doubt it. There may be a very small percentage that may switch over. But I think for the most part, the target audience for the Note 4 is way more sophisticated than the iPhone 6. Users who want the Note 4 over anything else, probably don’t care about the iPhone.

          1. I agree. I feel most people buying the new iPhone will be existing users and not new iPhone users.

          2. As a current Note 3 owner I actually thought about giving the 6+ for a minute , that minute came and went very quickly anxious for the Note 4……..: )

        2. I agree. The 6 and 6+ are going to take a significant amount of Android users away. Especially coupled with the promos the carriers are running. I’m thinking 6+ fir myself even.

    2. What?! I guess you don’t know how the business world works? If your competition is going to be beat you to market, you need to announce that you have something better ahead of time in hopes of keeping customers away from your competition.

  2. I think they may have bumped the specs of the microSD card to 128gb. Go check out the full specs on the official Samsung page. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SM-N910VZKEVZW

    1. You could have a 128GB card in the last Note too.

      1. Regardless. This article says 64gb. And I thought I saw right after the announcement the official word was 64gb. So why wouldn’t they say that if it’s always been able to support 128gb? Less compatibility with the different versions of cards?

        1. To be fair, in the video he also said it was a larger screen and it’s not soo..

          1. I’m used to my Note 2. So the 4 would be larger for me. I had to look up what the Note 3 specs are. Maybe they meant resolution, because the Note 4 has a higher screen resolution.

        2. The Note 3 and LG G3 can take up to 128GB. I currently have one on my Note 3. Here is an article from Phandroid regarding 128GB cards

          http://phandroid.com/2014/02/27/phones-that-work-with-sandisk-128gb-microsdxc-card/

  3. I’m buying the Nexus 4….its the same thing as the iPhone 6, but it has Android. :)

As far as the Note 4…too big. It takes up half my face when I talk on the Note 3!!

    1. To each his or her own , I’ve had a Note 3 since the day it was released , Best phone I’ve ever owned , I do have rather large hands but other then that just your average guy ….

  4. Pricing looks to be in the US$825 range… in Canada, this phone will cost $4000! LOL My wallet is crying.

    1. How is it gonna cost $4000?

  5. Can’t wait I was an early adopter of the JUMP Program before they started changing Terms and Conditions , so basically the first day it’s available I’m going to Jump…lol from my Note 3 to a 4 with no money even having to be exchanged , can’t wait………………..

  6. Pre ordering in 1h!!!

  7. Bad timing for this release! And I don’t mean it in the sense that they should release it at a future date! Instead, it’s going up against the iPhone 6 which beat its own previous pre-order sales record and brought in 4 million orders in 24 hours. I don’t think the Note 4 will even scratch the surface of those numbers. With the realization that a lot of users are are going to ditch their Android phones for iPhone 6, it makes sense for Samsung to offer their product to help stem the potential loss. However, it won’t be enough…They are rightfully concerned because Apple has removed their biggest advantage. SIZE.

  8. I compared this to the 6+ on Verizon’s website. It says the Note 4 is not NFC capable. I hope this is an oversight instead of Verizon deciding to cripple the phone.

  9. But I think for the most part, the target audience for the Note 4 is way more sophisticated than the iPhone 6.

  10. I wonder how long it will be before they are packaged with the vr headset in an attempt to pull in crapple buyers….
