Google Play Music All Access finally makes its way through Europe (but skips Germany)

While Google Play Music made its way to select European countries back in April, Google Play Music All Access — Google’s all-you-can-eat music streaming service — remained elusive.

More recently, Australia and New Zealand were added to the mix but today, GPMAA has finally arrived in the same European countries where Google Play Music originally, only with the exception of Germany. Here’s the current running list of countries that can now stream all the music they want via All Access:

  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • France
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Luxembourg
  • New Zealand
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • UK
  • United States

Welcome to the club, and might I recommend the first band you immediately stream after signing up is The 1975 (thank me later).

  3. Germany… home to apple lovers and Apple-paid judges.

    1. This time it has really nothing to do with apple. We have an institution (gema) which holds the rights for many international artists. They block out many videos at Youtube. And Google is on war with them. Gema wants horrendous amounts of money, which Google won`t pay. So, for years now, there is no progress… :-/

      1. DIE GEMA! After moving to Germany, I can’t watch any official music videos on YouTube anymore thanks to GEMA. :-/

  7. Is this punishment for some of the rulings German courts have made in patent disputes involving Google?

    1. Or the more likely scenario that they haven’t secured the rights to legally distribute in those countries yet.

      1. Yeah based on @fred_fredson:disqus’s post about GEMA I’d say this is probably the case.
