Verizon HTC One caught on camera

Verizon released a 32GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 this weekend, but many of you weren’t having it — you wanted a release date for that darned HTC One more than anything. Unfortunately we still don’t have such details, but new photos of Verizon’s HTC One have hit the internet.

We can’t be too surprised that what you see above is identical to the device you’ve already seen on the likes of AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. In fact, the only thing we can tell that makes this a Verizon device is that distinctive 4G LTE logo in the corner of the status bar.

Regardless, it’s nice to see that the promotional materials and press shots for the device are ready, which could indicate Verizon will soon be feeding us a release date. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it happens sometime this month.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Hopefully that Sept 5th date isn’t foreshadowing it’s release :/

    1. Where does this date come from?

      1. It’s on the screen.

        1. It’s also claiming it will be at 85 degrees in Chicago on Sept 5th at 10 am. Not accurate at all. I lived there for 26 years, it usually hovers around the upper 70’s to low 80’s at that time of the year.

Also there aren’t any Far East Movement concert dates for that time of the year announced….. So if we are going to pick the date, we should pick it all apart.

          1. LoL!! The concert. =.P

          2. Actually, the Far East Movement concert in Chicago was last night. That would mean by this graphic referring to the concert as ‘last weekend’, that we could be looking at a JULY 5th release date. In lieu of the holiday, I would expect VZW to start the campaign on Friday the 5th rather than Thursday, July 4th. Just my two bits.

          3. If the concert was last night, then that would mean that the phone would launch a week from that date. So we could possibly see something next week?

    2. Sept 5th Chicago? X-Phone release date :p

  2. The back side probably looks horrible with that ugly verizon logo, that’s why it’s not shown.

    1. Tmo put the phone information on the back of the HTC One. It’s a sticker showing the S/N, P/N and IMEI.

It may be a little rectangular 2-inch left 1-inch up, but it’s strong. I started peeling it and it look like it was going to leave a NASTY mark. I was so scared. LoL!!

  3. Verizon releases a lot of things on Thursdays, don’t they? If so, I’d bet 80% that September 5th is the date – that is a Thursday.

    1. lol September…. I’m waiting to switch to VDub as soon as this damn phone is avail.

    2. CONFIRMED: IT IS A THURSDAY!! But there’s some hope, Larry said he spoke to a rep and they said sometime in July. That’s all of the time they get if they want my money still.

      1. I’m really hoping that they were just waiting to approve 4.2.2 and that it will be soon, since I read something about 4.2.2 being approved for the GSM one or something. I really want this phone!

  4. Yes, please! I’m eligible for upgrade beginning 7/12!

  5. I just chatted with an online rep and they said it would be released in July…we’ll see….

  6. This phone is nice but i can’t get over the lack of a centered home button and large bezel.

    1. Yea. I hate that the HTC button does nothing on its own and that the home button is like 10 miles away from other OEMs’ home button. LoL!!

  7. I think I would be entirely okay if they released the Butterfly S in aluminum… OR a beefed up HTC One. Actually make it a beefed up One, that thing is gorgeous.

  8. 9/5 is not a good idea…that’s when the next iPhone comes out? They’d be screwing HTC…

  9. By the time they release this, it won’t be worth getting as HTC will be a few months away from a sequel. Way to drop the ball Verizon.

    1. People are still buying the Note 2 and S3. I mean those are still some good phones. Mainly because the S4 is a refresh to most people.

I could see the HTC One-Two being a refresh. I don’t see how this phone could get better, stock wise.

  10. Love this phone except:
    – Undersized Battery
    – Idiotic home button placement/logo placement
    – 4Mp cam. Is better in low light I admit; but not enough better to sacrifice poor resolution /sharpness outside.
    – Verizon: 2 months too late. Sorry; most people will now be waiting for the late summer/fall phones.

    1. the 4MP camera is actually better than most at high MP’s…the processing CCD is bigger which lets in more light and gives you better pics…

There are examples of people taking and blowing up pics from an ATT HTC One to 46″…the camera is better than the one on the Samsung Galaxy S4…I did a side by side with my son’s…

      But to each his own…

Verizon is way behind…they need to do upgrades faster…

      1. Sorry; but it is not. Ive taken a lot of test shots with the htc one. It is better in low light, but not significantly. In good light; it a significantly softer and grainier than other phones in its league.

So; if you are trapped indoors, perhaps it is OK. But for avg shooting the HTC One 4MP “ultrapixels” are disappointing.

        1. I’m not sure what settings you use but I had a lot of success with the camera when I had the phone inside and out and it was better than my sons Galaxy S4….Great pics all around and HTC ZOE was cool too…

        2. I work with these devices every day, Apple-HTC-Moto-Samsung-Nokia……frankly it never ends, i always have a new device in hand.
Everthing on the market is a distance second to the high end Lumia line….so this is like arguing who is a slightly better number 2 or number 3.
I agree with David to an extent… Its slighlty better is low light i think it IS signifigant if you shoot in low light, or work or play in a bar… If you work outside or play at the beach often, the HTC is not on par with the Samsung
In my option its everything ELSE on the HTC one that makes it the KING of androids.
HTC ONE is a hell of a phone, really the only Android phone I would WANT to own.

  11. Where is verizon going to put their fugly-ass logo they slap on the front of every phone?

    1. The speaker grill will be in the design of the Verizon logo.

  12. If the release date is in Sep’13 then it’s should be hTC One Max. It’s the king of the phablet from hTC. The largerest screen size of 5.9″ inches panel ever with metal casing; dual speakers Beats Audio Boom sound; Ultra-pixel Camera, we can call it an enlarge model of hTC new One . The leaks & rumor from the internet as T6/hTC one Max. We need Verizon to boost the hTC shipment for 2H’13.
Wait and see hTC to return it’s glory days.

  13. I was in a Verizon store tonight and a super nice employee asked me if I had any questions. I said, “Yes, but I bet you won’t have the answer….When is the HTC One coming to Verizon?”. The employee moved closer, speaking quietly so other employees wouldn’t hear, and said, “Looks like it’s going to be August. That’s what all the Verizon employees think.”
