Sprint nabs exclusive purple Galaxy S3, available now for $99

10

Today Sprint has begun offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 in an exclusive Amethyst Purple color option. With the Galaxy S4 right around the corner, the carrier is looking to squeeze every last ounce out of the GS3 before bidding it a fond farewell. The purple edition will be available as a 16GB model only and retails for $99 on a new two-year contract (after $50 rebate).

The phone doesn’t differ from other Galaxy S3 models in terms of is spec sheet. It features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1.2, and 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED display. As a special offer, Sprint is offering the Galaxy S3 for free to anyone porting their number from another carrier.

  9. Why is the S3 already going to get retired soon? I see no reason why at this point… it’s as fast as every other phone, still has current hardware inside, and is in everyone’s hands. Not to mention, it has hardly any quirks to it, unlike most other Samsung phones. (my main example, good phones with non functioning gps)
