Googlers compile Android Jelly Bean (in statue form, that is) [VIDEO]

9

You’ve heard of compiling source code, but what about compiling a statue of the object that represents the source code? We saw our first glimpse of the Android Jelly Bean statue yesterday, and today we are being treated to a video of the assembly process. And no, this isn’t some shoddy video captured by the camera of an Android phone. The fact that the production has hit the web means Google is making no secret of their next Android version nor of the fact that we can expect to see it unveiled this week at Google I/O.

  1. Maybe they’ve combined chrome os and android!?

    1. that will likely be 5.0 or 6.0, not an incremental update like 4.1
Although I do sure hope so :D

  2. Nice video.anyone know what song that is?

  3. I guess this answers the age of question; How many engineers and PHDs does it take to make a statue? :)

  4. Much cooler than having them scattered on the lawn like the earlier photo showed. Can’t wait for today’s announcements, my wallet is on standby for some new Nexus candy.

    1. I guess it was a play on words, “Spilling the Bean’s”

      1. Should have ducked, went right over my head. lol

  5. when the beans were spilled over it is “spilled the beans” meaning Jelly Bean tonight.

  6. I hope jelly bean will let you choose 5 rows of icons stock android instead of the usual 4, as with all these big screens 5 would easy fit, like go launcher, 5 x 4 works perfectly, but on stock Android please.
