White LG Optimus 4X HD gets handled in the wild

18

Here is a timely leak. Just as the release of the HTC One X and the upcoming announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S III have nearly erased any memory of the LG Optimus 4X HD from our minds, a white variant of the phone has appeared on Chinese site ePrice. We first saw LG’s flagship device at Mobile World Congress and haven’t heard much about it since.

The Android 4.0 handset features specs that put it in direct competition with the likes of the One X and GS3, including a 1.5GHz Tegra 3 processor, 4.7-inch HD display, and Android 4.0. We were initially enamored with the device but have since cooled on it a bit. The hardware is impressive, but LG hasn’t done much to enhance the experience beyond the Optimus 4X’s power. You can check out a few more images and videos at the links below.

  1. LG sucks ass. Just Remember the LG G2x.

    1. Well seeing that my G2X is still rocking and stable as hell I don’t see the issue.  Granted the factory load sucked ass but once you threw a custom ROM and kernel on it it became a force to be reckoned with.  So long as this phone can get custom ROMs and kernels I see no problem with it whatsoever.  That is assuming that the stock OS sucks but hey LG could surprise us with an incredibly stable and snappy ICS build from the factory.

      1. You shouldn’t have to load a custom rom on a phone to make it stable. It should have been stable out of the box, which it was not. So, yes, the G2x was a pos. I paid full price for a GS2 just so I wouldn’t have to deal with the G2x anymore.

    2. Remember the Behold II? People said the same thing about Samsung back in the day and they managed to turn it around..

    3. My friend actually has the LG G2x and still rocks and loves it.  Nice solid phone.

  2. thats a Galaxy S2 wannabe

    1. Definitely looks like an S2 ripoff. To be fair, it’s not a bad looking phone. It’s LG though, so won’t get any dev support and will be reliant on LG dishing out timely updates :-/

    2. The phone looks really nice but yeah.. looks definitely fall towards the GS2 side.

    3. and GS2 is iPhone 4 wannabe and iPhone 4 is LG Prada wannabe and so on. Oh please stop, galaxy s fans are starting to act like apple fanboys

      1. I agree. It is a square phone and has a screen…therefore it looks like a lot of other phones. I love the lack of bezel on this phone. I recently visited bestbuy and handled all the dummy phones and noticed how much bezel is present on all these monster 4.3 and larger phones-too much. Give me small bezel and plenty of screen.

  3. When you say this: “but LG hasn’t done much to enhance the experience beyond the Optimus 4X’s power.”… what the heck are you talking about? vanilla android is better so you want what? It just needs to be fast nice screen and reliable which maybe it is…

    1. And in this video 4X HD BETA outperformed htc one x. I think LG didn’t rushed into market this time to build a stable phone unlike htc.

  4. Nice device.  Too bad LG sucks.

    1. hopefully they’re changing for the better.  if they wanna survive this cell phone realm lol this phone looks like a good start

  5. The Nitro HD left a terrible taste in my mouth – nice hardware, amazing screen, but had to return it because the battery required charging twice a day to make it through on medium use.  Absolutely unacceptable.

    1. I think the Tegra 3 and it’s “companion” core would definitely help with that. :)

  6. Never owned an LG phone, yet.  Depending on what they’ve done with ICS, I’d buy this, looks like a great phone.
