IMDb for Android Update Brings 720p Trailers

3

Fear not, HD lovers: IMDb is now serving up your movie trailers in 720p. With the advent of HD phones and HDMI ports, IMDb finally found it necessary to add support. You’ll be able to switch between standard and high definition, and you’ll be able to instruct the app which to use based on connection type (WiFi or cellular data). Other than that, it’s still IMDB. Grab it from the Google Play Store here.

  1. Not 1080p? I know IMDB is free, but wow…didn’t know they are only now adding 720p support. Come on Google, we need a trailer app like Apple’s sexy “Trailers” app that is almost entirely 1080p, if not completely…

    1. What really annoys me is that with each IMDB update the trailer list becomes smaller and smaller and less accessible.

One year ago there was a large list of new trailers and now you have 6? “frontpage” trailers.

  2. It puts a stupid gray gradient behind the movie, so if a trailer doesn’t fill the whole screen, rather than a nice dark black above and below the video, you get to see gray.  I swear does no one test these things, and if they do, do they not take any pride in their products?
