First Press Shots of that Dual Screen LG Phone – Named the DoublePlay for T-Mobile

12

A while back, a photo of an LG device with a secondary device popped up. It was unique, revealing a separated keyboard with a small display beneath the top sliding portion of the phone. PocketNow has received official press shots of the device, though, and it revealed its name – the DoublePlay.

The display beneath the primary 320×480 display will likely be used as a secondary apps try for your favorite apps. I could see LG opening it up to developers to do more with, but the verdict is still out on all that. Rumors say this one’s coming November 2nd for $150.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Ugly as sin. “Hey guys, let’s design a phone that looks like a horse pill and will be just as ard to swallow for the American consumer.”

  2. now we just need a DS emulator….

  3. I’d buy something like this but with a reasonably powered processor over a pure touch device, but apparently adding a keyboard means gimping everything else on the device…

  4. That’s jus dumb…

  5. yay more crap from LG

  6. I’ve never liked dual screens ever since that gameboy came out with it. That goes for the Sony tablet that looks like a vagina too

  7. i seriously cant even imagine why this was a good idea.correct me if i’m wrong, but didn’t Sprint have a dual screen phone? it actually looked descent, and still didn’t sell.LG phones just look cheap, this seriously looks like the toy phone that i might buy for the kid that i don’t even have.this isn’t 1999 anymore, you have to actually put effort into your phones now

  8. I bet this will sell big in Korea and Japan, they tend to like stuff like this…..or kids inbthe US will love it.

    1. Yup…they love stuff like this. I don’t know why LG brought it this way. They’ll be lucky if they sell 10 of these.

  9. Am i the only one that thinks the idea is cool at least. i mean its basically a quick launch set and would be a decent idea if you can switch them out. might sell well with teens.

  10. That is a terrable idea… I though my idea of having a whole touch screen as a keyboard slide out was bad but I didn’t think anyone would invest in something like this..
