Sharp Aquos Phone SH-12 Takes its 3D to the FCC

2

Though the LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D are making a splash for their glasses-free 3D displays, Sharp’s Aquos lineup has touted the feature for some time now to little publicity due to a limited Japanese release. This may or may not be about to change, as a device that looks a lot like the Sharp Aquos SH-12 recently announced for Japan has hit the FCC.

This new phone does have one first for the Aquos line, and that is the ability to capture 3D images and video via an 8MP dual-camera setup similar to that of the Optimus 3D and EVO 3D. Though it can’t be confirmed outright that this is the SH-12, if it is it will also sport a 4.2-inch qHD display and Android 2.3. An FCC approval doesn’t necessarily mean a US release either, but we wouldn’t complain if it happened.
