The Samsung DROID Charge is yet another Verizon device rumored to be launched on April 28th. With today’s confirmation from Wirefly that its HTC-made cousin – he DROID Incredible 2 – would be out on 4/28 following a presale window tomorrow, word has come in of marketing materials and accessories for the DROID Charge making their way to Verizon stores. And while that doesn’t definitely confirm the rumored 28th launch, it’s about as good as we’re going to get at this point. which is better Charge or Incredible 2? I want the one with the better battery life because that’s what’s stopping me from getting the Thunderbolt..it’s lightning fast without the lightning charge..lol smh
I think Incredible 2 would be better in terms of battery life. One of the reasons the Thunderbolt is having problems with battery as well as the Motorola Bionic is the fact that it runs on 4G LTE. The 4G just drains the energy out of the phones. If you’re willing forego some battery juice for more speed, Charge would be a better choice, but I predict Incredible 2 would have better battery life, considering it’ll run under 3G only.
Idk the incredible had worse battery life than the tb. I would say the charge samsung is usually pretty good with battery life.
You are correct that 4G drains battery life, but you can download an app in the Android market that will keep your Thunderbolt at 3G by default. Then, when you are in NEED of the 4G (e.g. when watching videos while plugged in with low battery charge for some reason), you’d still have that option.
Samsungs on average get better battery life than HTCs, so my guess is that the battery life on the Charge > Thunderbolt but < Incredible.
Also, FWIW, the Thunderbolt comes with Sense 2.0 whilst Incredible does not. If that isn't important to you, then that should inform your decision, either way.
Also, if you're open to rooting whatever phone you get (there are "one click roots" available for nearly all phones nowadays), there are ways to extend your battery life significantly, I have read, by underclocking your processor during certain activities/timeframes (e.g. when the screen is off).
