Continuing the commitment to open source, the HTC Desire Z source has been tossed up to the Developer Center at HTC’s site for all to freely peruse and in some cases abuse. If you’re the type that likes to get knee deep in code this is a good chance to see behind the veil of the latest iteration of HTC Sense. Some areas of the code are still being held close to the chest, but that’s typical. If you want to dive in head over to the HTC Developer Center now.

I noticed a tweet by @cyanogen saying the link for the Desire Z source code actually points to the old original Desire code.
apparently its also out for the G2.
off topic: If you want the evo 4g, tiger direct has it for 159.99 for new/renew.
Great to hear that, should help with the hacking. Slightly offtrack, who else thinks the Desire Z has a better color (and name) to it?
im sorry this question may kind of sound stupid but what is a source code?

Haha. WTF ever. I mean we all know its locked / protected / fubar….
*Gets press release*
This just in, the HTC Desire Z is not =\> G2.
Desire Z- Sense UI
G2- Stock Android
I do hope this means the developers at XDA will be able to solve the camera, e-reader and music issues that have been defined as kernel bugs for any ports of the Desire Z and Desire HD ROMs.
@andulas – not a stupid question if you are not techie/geeky! It means the computer programming that makes the phone work, present the interface it does and allows it to run other programs – such as ones you download from the Android store.
