LG Optimus T for T-Mobile

T-Mobile’s announcing that they’ll be carrying the budget-priced LG Optimus T to bring a middle-of-the-road Android experience for a very affordable price. It comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen with Swype, a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, and Android 2.2. From the looks of things it’s almost the exact same device as the LG Optimus S for Sprint (save for Sprint ID, and the T will have LG’s custom launcher) – which we’ll have video of  shortly – and if that’s the case it won’t disappoint for the price. Read on for full press details.

  2. This phone isn’t as bad as as it looks, although that purple really doesn’t go well with the phone.

This is basically the same phone as Optimus GT540 that was already released and people are reporting that it is surprisingly snappy. Wonder why?

That’s because this 600MHz MSM7227 processor is sort-of half way between the old ARM11 based processors and 1st gen Snapdragons. MSM7227 uses Adreno 200 GPU from the Snapdragons. GT540 received Quadrant result of 465, which is only a bit lower than the Nexus One with 2.1 as shown here:

So given the low resolution, plus this GPU means the phone will be surprisingly snappy, and most games will run just fine.

I wouldn’t buy it for me, but may look great for my kids. :)

  3. The wi-fi calling is nice, but no way would I get this over the G2.

  4. It’s not meant to beat the G2 or the Vibrant… It’d be a great starter phone for people new to android.

  5. id load this thing with launcherpro or adw.launcher with the quickness… cause that shits ugly lmaooo

  6. U.S. Cellular will be getting the Optimus in December.

  7. Same specs as the Mytouch slide (save for the ram, not sure what this one has).

  8. Not bad.

  9. What impresses me more is the home screen. Class……..

  10. Isn’t Sprint getting one of these as well? Wish they released the Optimus Q here.

  11. wow.. this looks just like the sentio… looks very cheap but at least it has android 2.2!!! lol

  12. The phone is nice although a lighter purple will make it look better. It has great quality and the home screen is very impressive. The downloading is easier than any other phone in the market. Ill give it a 9 out of a 10. Please if you want an easier life i advise you to get this phone.
