This Week in Clones: HTC Hero

8

Leave it to the Chinese to clone any piece of tech they can get their hands on, even the ones that most people don’t even want anymore. Take for example this HTC Hero clone, which actually runs Android. That’s quite a step up for cloning. No word on which version of Android it is running, though, but it does feature a fake HTC Sense UI. Wouldn’t it be funny if this one got 2.1 before the real Hero? And that’s rhetorical. That wouldn’t be funny, it would just be cruel (which in a way is even funnier).

  1. I was hoping to buy a cheap Android phone that would emit more radiation when I used it than sticking my head in a microwave oven. It looks like my wish has been granted.

  2. It actually does say 1.5……

  3. “…even the ones that most people don’t even want anymore. Take for example this HTC Hero clone…”

    ???

People ‘dont even’ want the Hero? Uhh, maybe nitwit geeks that are too close to the forest that they cant see the commonsense behind not trying to keep up with the Jones’ every six weeks.

The Hero is still a top end phone/platform.

    Come back in six months/year.

    -smh-

  4. Figures.

    No-one buys clones.

  5. Brian,

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but that phone is dated. And “top end” is not a phrase most would use to describe it.

  6. Brian is quite the silly guy isnt he?!?!?

Hero would not even be close to up to date even to non “nitwit geeks that are too close to the forest that they cant see the commonsense behind not trying to keep up with the Jones’ every six weeks”

His post screams of someone without the money to play with new tech…

Sorry Brian, its not everyones game!

If you would like an old phone to play with, just ask, I ll be happy to send you one or 2.

  7. I love hearing about these knock-off phones. I’m currently located in Beijing and I see fake-iPhones quite often on the subway. They’re not that hard to differentiate though, the ‘circle’ button on the iPhone is an oval on the knock-off’s.

  8. what is this crap that people dont want hero anymore. HTC Hero is on top wish list of millions of people. it is the only good looking android phone around. it does what it says on the box. it is the best phone i have ever used. i tried NExus one it sucksss. Iphone sucks, Only HERO rocks…… and will rock forever….
