You can now chat with your 16 favorite people on Snapchat

0

The battle between Instagram and Snapchat continues as the latter has released a new update which allows users to create a group chat. This group chat can have as many as 16 members at once, with the messages automatically deleting after 24 hours.

Groups can be created while sending a Snap, or when you’re making a new Chat. When your friends are present in a Group Chat, we show their name at the bottom of the Chat. Simply tap their name to start a 1:1 Chat, and then easily return to the Group in one swipe!

In order to start a new group chat, you will need to simply swipe to the right within Snapchat and then tap the message icon in the top right-hand corner. From here, you will be able to invite whomever you would like to, then you can rename the group chat appropriately. If you want to save the chat for longer than 24 hours, you can also do so by pressing and holding down on a message within the chat.

In addition to adding Group Chats to the mix, Snapchat has also added to new Creative Tools – Scissors and Paintbrush. Scissors will allow you to create stickers by cutting out a part of the Snap that you have received. Paintbrush is exactly what you expect and allow you to edit and draw on any Snaps that were sent via Memories.

We expect Instagram and Snapchat to continue to battle for your favorite pictures, and this is just another step in the process. If you want to learn more about Snapchat and what it can do, check out Phandroid’s full Snapchat guide, along with our hands-on review of the Snapchat Spectacles.
