By far, the most controversial tech trend of 2016 has been the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple made a big splash when they removed it from the iPhone 7, but they aren’t the only manufacturer to do so. It was inevitable that Samsung would follow in Apple’s footsteps. SamMobile has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will not have a 3.5mm jack.

There was a rumor that Samsung would create their own proprietary headphone port. Thankfully, it sounds like they will be going the USB Type-C route. That means you’re stuck with one port for both charging and headphones. The 3.5mm jack was already on its way out, but phone makers are trying to rush it out the door while making it inconvenient for users.

Another report about the Galaxy S8 claims it will be ditching the home button. Notice we didn’t say “physical home button.” The rumor states the home “button” will be a part of the display. It will have a proper optical fingerprint sensor and a very high screen-to-body ratio. If all of these rumors are true, the Galaxy S8 is going to be a wild device.
