Hyundai brings Android Auto to your car via a DIY upgrade

HYUNDAI RELEASES DO-IT-YOURSELF INSTALLATION FOR SMARTPHONE INTEGRATIONS ON SEVERAL EXISTING MODELS

Hyundia is providing owners of select vehicles a pretty awesome upgrade, and the best part is you don’t even need to go to the dealership. Through an extensive walk-through tutorial you can install Android Auto on any of the following Hyundai models:

Compatible Car Models:

  • 2015/2016 Hyundai Sonata
  • 2015/2016 Hyundai Sonata
  • 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT
  • 2016 Hyundai Tucson
  • 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

Since each of these vehicles is equipped with an in-dash unit and an SD card, you can easily load up the software yourself, and install it in your car. Then you’ll be up and running on Android Auto without making another purchase, or dealing with the lines at the dealership.

Hyundai also explains that it has plans to make an upgrade available for owners of the 2016 Sonata Hybrid, Sonya Plug-In Hybrid, Veloster and Azera.
