T-Mobile reassures everyone that Unlimited data isn’t going anywhere

0

Although most carriers these days are getting rid of unlimited data packages, it seems T-Mobile’s is here to stay. Despite scaring people when they recently raised the price of the unlimited data plan from $80 to $95, it still hasn’t stopped folks from continuing to take advantage of the freedom unlimited data offers.

During a series of questions after its earnings report, T-Mobile COO Michael Sievert reiterated the usefulness of Unlimited data even with services like Binge On and Music Freedom taking the burden away from data packages.

“COO Michael Sievert said the carrier continues to offer unlimited pricing options, but he noted those aren’t as compelling thanks to the operator’s Binge On and Music Freedom programs that zero-rate the data from select streaming video and music providers.”

Something else of note that was mentioned during the call was that T-Mobile only has 50% of its wireless spectrum dedicated to LTE and that Binge On alone reduces traffic on the network by 10 percent. It’s these two factors that prove not only can T-Mobile handle more Unlimited customers, but that the wireless speeds can also increase once more sections of the spectrum are refarmed to support LTE.

T-Mobile is one of America’s favorite carriers due to its “UnCarrier” movement and the openness of CEO John Legere. The company continues to offer great deals and specials on not just products, but the plans themselves. For example, a family of four can get four lines, 10GB of LTE data each, per month and all the luxuries of Binge On and Music Freedom for only $35 a line. You’d be hard pressed to find a better deal out there. Don’t forget you can roll over up to 20GB of data from one month to the next, for up to one full year. It’s a tough offer to beat.
