Samsung reportedly unveiling a 360-degree camera alongside the Galaxy S7 at their Unpacked event

We’re only a few weeks away from Samsung’s big Unpacked event in Barcelona where the Korean manufacturer will unveil #TheNextGalaxy — or, Galaxies, rather (the Samsung Galaxy S7 and larger Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge). It seems that may not be all that’s on the docket, with the folks at SamMobile scoring exclusive details about even more VR related devices coming our way, courtesy of Samsung.

According to sources, this new device could simply be a more refined version of Samsung’s Project Beyond, using a series of wide-angle cameras to capture full 360-degree content in every direction. This “Gear 360” as it’s being called (Samsung filed a trademark for that name last month), would hook up to your phone using Bluetooth and a special companion app for controlling various settings.

It’s still not clear if Samsung will only be teasing the product, saving a bigger more formal announcement about pricing and availability at a future Unpacked event. Either way it’s obvious Samsung is getting really serious about VR.
