Hot off of Facebook’s quarterly earnings call — in which they revealed they now have 1 billion active daily users and raked in $4.5 billion in revenue for Q3 — it appears the social network could be planning to launch a stand-alone news app next week.

The app will be called Notify and similar to Twitter’s recently launched “Moments” feature, will notify users up to date with breaking news as it happens. Notify will feature content from special media partners like Vogue, the Washington Post, CBS, among others. Because it will apparently be separate from Facebook, you wont have to worry about scrolling down too far and reading those toxic comments you normally find Facebook’s news feed.

We’re sure to learn more about the app when/if it debuts next week.
