It looks like this could be the final post from yours truly here in the Android Overload. In an effort to further bring you — our readers — new and exciting original content from the world of Android, we’ll be transitioning Android Overload to a weekly Friday feature. As usual it will wrap up the week’s big stories and share some stuff that flew under the radar. The purpose of this change is to spend more of our time and effort into other avenues, like more app reviews, featured content, discussions, and so forth.

Since Phandroid has always been a team effort – through our team of writers and community feedback – we’re curious how you feel about this change. If you feel like this nightly column has been a resource to you, we wanna hear your thoughts. If there are specific things you would rather see, let us know. Android Overload: kill it or keep it?

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. I say keep it! It’s always interesting to look at! Or you could do sunday Tuesday friday night’s if it’s too much work.

  2. I like the nightly YouTube videos. I vote to not change it. If it’s a slow news day then incorporate a 15 minute game challenge thing. That’s how I found my favorite game cubes vs spheres.

    1. Love that game! :D

  3. The Marvel giveaway was suspended because of too much demand.

  4. I love Android Overload. Especially as hardly any news websites get updated over the weekend (that I care about) and at work between calls I can surf the Internet I save the Overload for Saturdays and I must say having several new stories to read is very nice for me. I always appreciate it.

  5. Definitely keep the nightly Overload! I actually look forward to it when I go to bed.

  6. Keep it! Keep it!

  7. Please keep it, Chris. I so missed my bedtime reading of Overload when you guys were at Barcelona…
On another note, Marvel’s #1 promo is down :-{ Those guys really had no idea. What’s also interesting is the “+” count on that page: 3.5M Facebook, 45 G+. Isn’t that just pity?

  8. Please keep it! With the Android Overload I know I can check Phandroid and get ALL of the Android news there is!!!

  9. Chris, I don’t think I’ve ever thrown in my 2 cents, but for Android Overload–I have to say–It’s TOTALLY a great value. Please keep it.

  10. Oh no. :( I loved android overload.

  11. I say keep it. You could possibly cut it down to only 2 or 3 times a week, but I think it’s really nice.

  12. keep it. you can lose the video, but need the overload news article links.

Nothing against you and your videos, I just make it a habit of not wasting my time on videos online for what should be a few seconds worth of reading.

  13. This is not the Droid you’re looking for…
