5.5-inch Optimus G Pro headed to LG’s native Korea?

23

The LG Optimus G Pro we already know will hit Japan’s NTT DoCoMo later this spring carries a 5-inch display, but it looks like the Korean company has something even bigger planned for its homeland. Still running under the name Optimus G Pro, information has surfaced on a version of the device with a 5.5-inch display and larger 3140mAh battery.

Other rumored specs include a 1.7GHz Snapdragon CPU with LTE support, 2GB of RAM, and 13MP camera, hardware that matches the device slated for Japan. It’s a curious choice to launch the phone in two separate display sizes, and it raises a question about which model we will see in other regions. Perhaps a mix of both?

We expect to get our hands on at least one of the upcoming Optimus G Pro variants at Mobile World Congress, where LG will officially unveil their 2013 lineup of smartphones.

  1. Soon people will walk around with tablet sized phones strapped to their heads. LoL! Asians have small hands so it has to be hilarious seeing someone from Korea or Japan walking around with a 5.5 inch beast.

    1. Its like giving Verne Troyer(aka Mini Me) a Galaxy Note 2. Now that’s a funny thought.

      1. Why is that funny? Because your parents provided you with more growth hormone than his makes you feel superior?

      2. you really crack yourself up.

  2. LG should have stick to their ”L-Style” design. This is just ridiculous.

  3. Nice, 5.5 needs to be the standard size. My note 2 owns all lol

    1. No. The Market disagrees with you.

      1. which market?

      2. Keep hating while experts and consumers agree for 10 straight weeks Note 2 as no1 device :) http://www.phonedog.com/2013/02/06/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-continues-winning/ ^_^

  4. This is an almost complete rip of the Galaxy Note II. Phone makers need to be way more innovative with their designs, this is getting pathetic.

  5. Now THAT is when people need to sue. Not just when they use a shape.

    1. I sue because there is no hot azn chick holding the phone. What’s LG’s problem? Couldn’t even find a hot shemale? Come on!

  6. This is why LG is a failure in the states, they only release their best phones in S. Korea and not to everyone else, do you think that Apple would only release a bigger iphone in the US, I think not as you can’t maximize profits using LG’s model of home country only releases.

    1. apple will do anything at this point, include making a 128GB ipad “for businesses”. Using them as a benchmark for your argument is silly. LG is a failure in the states for one simple reason.. lack of marketing. They don’t market here, period.

  7. Ugly dumb design… That home button really pisses me off, I guess my LGOG will be my last LG device

    1. yeah damn button.. probably keeps you up all night just thinking about it. it throws off your whole YOLO swagger deal with the ladies? Werd.

      1. What happened to you as a kid that your so negative towards others on blogs?

        1. Probably got touched by his uncle Buck.

          1. haha

  8. minus the LG at the top of the phone, that looks like a Samsung device. I’m pretty surprised they haven’t gotten flack for that already.

  9. was*, actually*, part time*, her*, computer*, their*, friend’s*
    Improper use of ellipses.

    kill yourself.

  10. LG wants to be Samsung so badly. The majority of their phones look like a Samsung device that came out before the LG product.
