DROID RAZR MAXX mailer teases Ice Cream Sandwich, redundancy

11

Another day, another Photoshop screwup. This time, Verizon’s advertising the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX via snail-mail. According to those mailers, the RAZR MAXX has Ice Cream Sandwich. The status bar at the top is a dead giveaway, but nothing is as obvious as the on-screen buttons sitting right above a row of capacitive buttons.

Talk about wasted screen real estate. We’re willing to bet those software buttons won’t be there, but it’s still funny regardless. On a related note — now that you guys are showing these devices to have Ice Cream Sandwich in the mail, can we please get the actual update to the real deals? [via Droid-Life]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Lol redundancy is right…

  2. Epic fail on showing the screen buttons above the capacitive buttons. Looks like it’s amateur hour over at Verizon.

    1. Or it is possible that they’re just dumb enough to think people want 2 home buttons and 2 back buttons… I mean, they are dumb enough to think people actually want VZW nav, V-Cast Tones, and V-Cast Music…

but the joke’s on me because I pay them $90 a month :'(

      1. I pay $480 for unlimited everything on 5 android lines and no joke on me because I had just about every service here in the bay area and I can happily say that I will never switch to another carrier because once you go verizon you don’t go back.

  3. Jokes on me, I pay $180 for 2 phones Razr maxx & G’nex w/ total 8g’bs of data =) owhooa!!! they seen us comming!!!…Damn me & my love for shine new moto devices called razr’s !!!!!

  4. I pay 260 a month for 2000 minutes,4 lines with grandfathered unlimited data and insurance on 3 lines , never wanna give it up.

    1. Changing your phone when your contract is ready does absolutely nothing to your contract… the benefits you have now will be the benefits you after getting your new phone.

I have to believe that, someday, VZW might drop a bombshell but until then…  drink mightily from the unlimited trough!

  5. I’ve figured it out. Motorola has no budget to release ICS because Sanjay got a huge bonus despite Motorola its self taking a loss.

It also might be patent company Google holding back as to help out the other manufacturers

  6. I got this snail mail last week and it offers an additional $100 to the $30 off I have for renewing my contract.

With the galaxy nexus down to $200 a $130 savings would mean a new nexus for $70!

  7. I just looks like they are showing a ICS screen shot. No? (If so, it looks ridiculous.)

  8. I have the official ICS build running on my Razr Maxx, the ICS buttons shown in the picture above the actual buttons do not actuall exist. Rest assured the official build has been tweaked specifically for the Razr
