Verizon Drops Pricing on Fascinate, DROID 2 R2-D2, Incredible, Plus More

Following the news that Verizon would be switching up their rebate programs to give customers the best prices on new devices at the point of sale, they’ve dropped the prices of several devices. The Motorola DROID 2 R2-D2 edition is now $99.99 along with the Samsung Fascinate and the HTC Droid Incredible. I took a quick gander to see if I could spot any other price drops, but came up empty. Still, keep your eye out for any other permanent discounts as well as any discounts part of Verizon’s 10 days of sweet deals promotion that ends – you guessed it – the day the iPhone 4 is released. $599.99 is insanely high for a cellphone with a mere 3.7″ screen.

WalMart is selling the Fascinate for 50 bucks for new customers or those upgrading. BestBuy offered the same deal last time I checked as well.

Just this morning I bought the Fascinate for $145 (with California tax). I would have got it at Walmart or Amazon, but I am on a business plan which basically means that Verizon gets to rip us off at every turn and we cannot go through third party vendors. Still, I am glad that they came to their senses on the pricing of this phone just in time for my upgrade.
