Qualcomm’s getting ready to make their strong push for the widescale adoption, development, and use of augmented reality as they’ve just let the floodgates open for submissions into their Augmented Reality Developer Competition. Contestants will simply develop apps using augmented reality in conjunction with, say, an Android smartphone for compelling real-world applications. We’ve already heard of and seen the many amazing things one can do with augmented reality at work, and this competition should bring about even more goodness.

The first place winner will receiver $125,000 to help their great project along, another $75,000 being dished out to the runner-up winners.
