HTC Wildfire Gets Attractively Priced for Preorder, Initial Launch Window Narrowed

7

Last week, we had reason to believe that the HTC Wildfire could be coming to us for a cool 300 euros (close to 250 pounds). While there’s been no indication of those rumors being true yet, one online retailer has the HTC Wildfire up for preorder at 210 pounds. For US currency, that translates to around $300.

That is very cheap for a smartphone of this nature. While it isn’t exactly touching the big boys in terms of specs and features, it looks to be a very capable phone that – for $300 – is cheap enough to bring any baby bloomer along for a ride on the Android train. If this outlet is to be trusted, expect the phone to ship sometime in late June.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

It is like a mix of the Desire/N1 but is the size (roughly) of the Tattoo.

yeah it’s kind of hard to tell from that picture of how big the phone actually is lol. I’m happy w/ my N1… won’t be upgrading until other phones comes stock w/ Freyo or Gingerbread :)
lol Still waiting for the Froyo update to push to my N1 though

  4. Its a good phone for those who can’t afford the more powerful phones.

  5. oh no doubt about that. I didn’t say it wasn’t; just simply stating that it looks similar to a N1 :)

  6. Seems like a good phone for my wife if has T-Mobile bands.

  7. That £210 is before tax (which is levied on all consumer purchases) which takes it up to £250!

However, there are other companies selling it for under £220 after VAT (the sales tax) has been added.

The real deals are with contracts – it is possible to get it for free on a 24 month contract of about £10 a month with 300 anytime any number minutes and unlimited texts!
