AT&T Releases Their Own Account Management App For Android Devices

5

AT&T’s launched an app for their customers to manage their account and view their account information on Android devices. Currently, they only carry the AT&T Backflip, but the app will be compatible with all Android phones that AT&T rolls out in the future.

The app will allow you to pay your bills from your phone, view all your usage data for voice, text messaging, and mobile internet, and it will let you opt-in to paperless billing with the ability to view your bills on your phone. Additionally, you’re able to change your plan’s services (such as data, text messaging, and other add-ons that AT&T offers), however it’s not clear if you’ll be able to change your base plan from the app.

If you want to take advantage of this, be sure to swing by AT&T to sign up for MyWireless, then point your phone’s browser to the app’s landing page at http://www.att.com/myandroid (or simply search the Android market for MyWireless Mobile).

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. You should also check out the new app from Orange (UK) – Your Orange

  2. We need something like this in the UK for T-Mobile.

  3. I believe this will cause even more fragmentation among the android system.

  4. Would it work for Android devices not bought through AT&T. Not going to install it as then they would know I have a smartphone and up the price of my data plan. But if that does happen, I am wondering if I could get it.

  5. My thoughts exactly–is using this app the same as begging for a forced change to smartphone data plan?
