I know there is only one game of the Major League Baseball World Series left – that is, assuming (read: hoping) Andy Pettitte and the Yankees defeat Pedro Martinez and the Phillies tonight – but this application is too cool to not share. You can only download the beta during the World Series and then its likely we’ll see it return to Android Market next season, but if you’re a baseball fan you’ll really enjoy getting this early sneak peak.

You CAN’T download the application from Android Market – to download visit MLB.com from your Android Phone.

So what do you think?

  • Yankees in 6?
  • Yankees in 7?
  • Phillies in 7?

I want the Yankees to win but I’m not opposed to the Phillies winning tonight – I really love Game 7 showdowns. Nothing quite like a game where winner takes all and everything is on the line.

Yankees gotta do it tonight. I feel good with CC on the mound tomorrow, but in a sport where anything can happen, I don’t want to let it get to that point.

Here’s to hoping Pettitte can keep us close..I doubt Pedro will go longer than 6 innings, so if this is the case, then our worst scenario will be having 3 innings to do our best against Phillies relievers. I like our offense in that situation.

This was the last piece that was detering me from jumping to android. The iPhone now has nothing I care about that only it can do.

Hating the Yankees is as American as apple pie, teen pregnancies, and cheating on your taxes. Ergo, not hating the yankees is as unamerican as techno, soccer, and vegemite.

    GOddamn yankees.

Wise Dr. Funk – Pete Happy is the third baseman, not a pitcher. (Translate Pedro Feliz)

Sheesh, no comments on the app itself? Rob, you’re right, that app is ridiculously awesome. I have never seen any app of this caliber on the iPhone, probably in part because of the severe programming restrictions Apple has in place on it. And this is only BETA?!? If this is any indication of things to come, Android apps are gonna start rocking very soon! Oh, and I will say too that apps have probably been limited to far due to the lack of high-end hardware. With the new OMAP processors, that could change quickly.

    little late for this app
