Gimme Cupcake Dawgz

First of all, in tribute to David’s explanation of Android Market’s comment system (first comment of yesterday’s post) we wanted to assure him that, “yo all deez dawgz wants dem cupcakes as badz as u!” And we’ve got proof:

Now if you want to see an example of the REAL cupcake – sans dogs, dawgs or doggydawgzyos – a video by Nullwire has been floating around that uses the emulator to highlight the improvements Cupcake will bring to your G1:

Some of the improvements shown include:

  • Onscreen keyboard (thank you!)
  • Live folders – instantly add folders with dynamic content like “favorite youtube videos”
  • Window transitions – very cool looking
  • Smiley’s in the messaging application – ’nuff said
  • Loads of new languages added

I think I speak for all phandroids when I say… HURRY UP!

  1. Hopefully you can turn off the graphical smileys. That “feature” is definitely not an improvement, in my book.

  2. I agree, and its not like they see them on the other end. Also i noticed under the attach option it said you could capture video, I’ve had mixed input on video capturing, so are we getting it or no?

  3. I’d rather have more advanced photo taking/editing options than video at this particular point in time… if I had to choose between the two.

  4. don’t forget improved bluetooth features ( stereo and disk profiles)

  5. i live in the uk and so far i havent seen a single ota update. im not even sure if tmobile is going to bother at my end (im still on rc8 firmware)
any ideas on how i could get this if tmobile doesnt provide ota updates in my country?
also, does cupcake provide a means to download apps directly to the sd card? (im running low on space)
