The latest member of the Transformer family from ASUS is now available for purchase by US consumers. The quad-core Tegra 3 slate can be purchased for an easy-to-swallow $379 for a 16GB WiFi model or $399 for the upgrade to 32GB of internal storage. The keyboard dock can be had for an additional $149. The 10.1-inch slate runs Android 4.0 and features an 8MP camera. It will be available next month in Europe, while the high-end Transformer Pad 700 is expected to arrive in early summer.

  1. I would like to know if the original transformer keepad fits the pad 300?

At the 2:25 mark the reviewer says that the original Transformer Prime keyboard dock “isn’t compatible” (at least that’s what I think he says….). He then says it kinda fits, but doesn’t completely lock in.

  2. It does not,  The Prime is thinner from what I read and looked at for specs.  Droid-Life tried it and sais the prime will fit in the 300’s dock but the 300 will not fit in the prime dock.

  3. Is this Asus’s standard Transformer availability, where no one can actually buy the thing for at least a couple more months? Or do they actually have units on store shelves this time?

(Signed a long-frustrated but now happy Prime user.)

  4. Does the 300 have the gorilla glass like the Prime?
