HTC has trademarked a lot of names and they’ve stocked up on even more code names. The HTC Vigor is another one of those names that popped up a while ago alongside now-released devices such as the HTC Tattoo. In fact, we reported on the Vigor back in 2009. I remember being excited for a long list of HTC device code names where at least half were believed to be names of Android handsets.
Unfortunately, that one never did make its way to the marketing campaign… until now. It appears that they’re taking that old name and applying it to a new device set to come out on Verizon. It’s modeled quite similarly to other Verizon HTC handsets so we can’t tell what exactly we’re getting here. One thing we do know thanks to the sample photo leaked above is that the device will have a 6 megapixel camera, a strange number when talking about phone sensors. [PocketNow]
The whole time I was reading the article I kept thinking, “What the hell does that pic have to do with anything?” Finally, in the last sentence, you made it clear. Good strategy though cuz that’s really the only reason I read the article.
Well, the title alone should have tipped you off to why the image was relevant.
No I agree, the picture is weird as hell but if you guys can really tell the MP’s from the quality of the picture that’s SICK! You got talent!
It could be 8mp but on a wide angle mode or something. Just a thought.
That’s true–most 8MP cameras do have a 6MP mode.
Does it bother anyone else that Mr. Quentyn Kennemer has posted the last 6-7 articles on the Phandroid site and that they we’re ALL completed and posted TODAY? How much time and effort are you actually putting into your postings Quentyn? I bet if you spent more time on specific topics and articles they would end up being well….better. Just a thought
Kevin did 10 articles in the morning. It’s just how we operate. That said, we have been making changes to our editorial approach to bring more original content.
You know what, I guess I cant really hate, I’m just a little jealous that you get to write SO many articles and I get NONE. A buddy I worked with got lucky and had his article posted on a big android site, I was just thinking that if 1 person has to do so many posts maybe you guys needed help? If so hit me up, I got MAD SKILLZ when it comes to android tech and reviews. Anyway, good job Quentyn and Kevin, looks like they’re workin you guys over there and I must say you’re doing a good job.
No. Stupid stuff like that doesn’t bother me. I have better things to worry about.
Touche’, good point.
Wait….no it wasn’t!
4G, dual-core HTC device w/ Sense 3.0 please? :D
