Due to ongoing issues with Verizon’s 4G LTE network, the Samsung DROID Charge’s launch seems to have been delayed a bit longer than its 3G brethren launching today. Sometime yesterday, users across the nation began reporting 4G LTE outages that left them on 3G speeds. Verizon has since identified the problem and is working to restore service to everyone over the coming days. (Folks are reporting that service is slowly being restored.)
The HTC DROID Incredible 2 and the Casio g’zOne Commando both appeared online for sale at Verizon’s website early this morning, but the Samsung DROID Charge was missing. Earlier rumors mentioned a delay due to the aforementioned issues with 4G and the fact that the phone isn’t yet up on Verizon’s site today makes me believe they may be true.
We’ve reached out to several of our contacts at Verizon to get down to the bottom of this one. Sit tight, folks – you may have to go through the weekend without this one. Or perhaps they’ll get everything fixed in time for some weekend fun with your soon-to-be new toy. If you need something to do other than twiddling your thumbs or pulling your hair out, why not check out our unboxing video. A full review is also on its way. [via Engadget]
First PSN then Verizon’s LTE, WTF is going on. I’m already hearing about attacks to the Xbox.
its Skynet……
Huh, I periodically checked my LTE connection yesterday and as of 01:00 EST it was back up and running and still is this morning. 30 minutes North of Philadelphia and about 45minutes south of NYC, I-95 corridor Pennsylvania.
Same, 4G was back up this morning when I woke up in central Jersey.
Verizon LTE 4G came back on-line overnight in Dallas and is solid this morning. But it was out all day yesterday and into the evening.
I was in earlier and they said they received an email at 10 last night saying it was delayed but everyone had their Droid charge shirts on Lmao
People must think that 4g comes out of the air and just appears magically… Check the news, there were SEVERE storms in the south… Causing ALOT of issues as this is where some DEVICES are… Your 4/3g is on the ground.. only transmitted by air.. You lose power to those routers/switches you lose DATA services..
It’s more likely that samsung has no idea what the f they’re doing when it comes to making phones that work
It’s very smart…you can try to play Solitaire Challenge!!!
