Lots and lots of DROID Incredible 2 stuff today. Firstly: an internal document confirms the April 28th launch date we’ve heard rumored before. Previously, we saw it in a leaked Verizon roadmap that was sent to us. Later on, another internal document backed the roadmap. And now another internal document is showing the same date. I think this one’s pretty solid, folks.
On that same document is a list of all the specs you could want to know about. According to it, it’ll have an 8 megapixel rear camera, a VGA front camera, Android 2.2 with HTC Sense, a 1GHz processor, a 4-inch WVGA display, will be a world phone and will come preinstalled with a 16GB microSD card. It’s already sounding like a worthy successor to the original.

Would be nice if they were able to release it with gingerbread.
The European version of this device (that is named Incredible S) is yet released.
It has Android 2.2.2 FroYo, and the same performance of Desire HD.
But the camera is very good, much better than the ones on the previous-generation device (Desire, Desire HD, Incredible, Thunderbolt…).
HTC say Gingerbread si coming on mid-June (with Gingerbread update for Desire HD and Desire Z).

I’m sure the 1ghz processor in this is much more efficient then the original incredible’s. Wish verizon would ditch this droid name as it makes a world full of idiots that think droid is a platform. Either way probably mostly similar to the thunderbolt’s processor.
The chipset of the Incredible 2 is the same of the Thunderbolt (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655) with 1GHz Single-Core CPU and Adreno 205 GPU.
(the USA version of the MSM8255, that is used on the Desire S, Desire HD, Incredible S, Xperia Arc, Optimus Black…)

Yeah, this is a newer generation Snapdragon. It’s not dual core, but it is FAST still.
I’m holing out fo rthe Bionic.

I’ve said it before and while I’m sure this is a decent upgrade for regular (nonrooted) Inc users, this is kinda a lame upgrade if you already have a rooted and overclocked Inc 1. Its like going from an ipad to ipad2 (haha), the hardware doesn’t warrant an upgrade especially if you sign a 2 year contract.

Atrix 4g is a poor example as AT&T has its “4g” crippled. No carrier has good 4g or even real 4g yet so its all marketing. Dual Core phones will be quite powerful when android is better coded for it.
Verizon’s 4G LTE is the real deal. Go into a store and check out the Thunderbolt or Charge. These phones literally tie and beat DSL. Every other mobile phone company was terrified of the release of the LTE signal so they preemptively put out their “4G” which only means 4th generation and actually has nothing special about it. As far as paying for it, it’s the same price for now, so um, duh, count me in. I agree that people are retarded and let a name sell them. Hence people jumping on AT&T’s, Sprint’s and T-Mobile’s 4Gm which are all practically the same speed as Verizon’s 3G.

hmmm it sounds exactly like the original Droid Incredible but with a slightly larger screen, 4g, and a front facing camera. Add a 1.2ghz processor or something and it doesn’t even have android 2.3!!!!!…..looks like I’m getting the Htc Evo 3d =D!
Well, it is not exactly like the Inc, since the Inc had 8gb internal storage (768mb for apps and 6.6gb for media). What does this one have?
It’s a shame one of the best Android devices (for it’s time) isn’t really getting a worthy successor. I’m sure it’s a good phone but no good selling points.
Unless you need a world phone why would one buy this over the Thunderbolt?
You would buy this over the TB if you live in an area that isn’t getting 4g for awhile. You like the smaller screen size, lighter weight, and better battery life.
If you didn’t need 4g and were in the market for your 1st smartphone, I bet you this would be a good choice. If you own a D1 or an Inc1, I doubt very much you’d be convinced on upgarrading to this as its not significant enough to warrent the $200 price tag. Plus you probably have knowledge of what’s to come as far as new phones.
