Sprint users now have access to DRM-free music tracks, ringtones, and ringbacktones by way of Sprint Music Plus. The service, powered by RealNetworks, features an exclusive music store application for Android (BlackBerry and feature phones will ship with the music store pre-installed starting in May). Music tracks start as low as $0.69, but purchasing a song together with a ringtone or ringback tone tacks on some additional savings. The Sprint Music Plus app not only allows for the purchasing of music, but also lets you manage your music library, create playlists, and assign custom ringback tones depending on caller. See the full press release below or scan the QR code seen here with your Sprint handset to download the app.

Yeah, Sprint’s growth is becoming organic. Let’s hope the new CFO, an improved line up, and cost cutting will put blue chips back into this company.

Great, another Sprint app that I dont want on my new phone. It will look great next to the crappy Blockbuster app.
App sucks, it will not work over WiFi.
Only Sprint gives you unlimited … cross-promotion. LOL what a complete non-service. I can already get all the music I need without Sprint being an unnecessary middleman who gets to push currently-being-marketed crapiola at me.
First Sprint ID, now this. Sprint is trying to rebrand itself as “the Product Placement Network”!

Way to post a video that has NOTHING to do with what John was talking about. Try finding a Sprint ad that has something to do with their new music service, then you’ll be spot on.
@John, I’m pretty much with you. I’ve currently got 7+ GB of music on my phone, all of which is from my iTunes library. Although I do have to admit, the DRM free bit is pretty nice.
Who cares? We’re all rooted and can remove it. If it increases revenue stream for Sprint via the normal customer, and keeps us getting low cost unlimited service and good phones, how is it such a bad thing? :)
Agreed.
