While LG stopped short of showcasing a new flagship (at least not to the world), the company did show off a new device. The LG V30S ThinQ lineup was announced, but not everything was shared regarding the device.
Notably, LG stopped short of sharing pricing and availability of the new V30s ThinQ lineup. Thankfully, the company has now shared these details, at least for those in South Korea.
The standard V30S ThinQ will be priced at $975, while the V30S+ ThinQ cross the $1,000 threshold, being priced at $1,020. Compared to the new Galaxy S9 lineup, this price increase is quite substantial, considering the standard Galaxy S9 is priced at around $790.
As a refresher, the V30S ThinQ lineup features the same body and style as the standard V30. However, LG has packed a few AI goodies into the devices while increasing the RAM and storage. The V30S ThinQ includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the V30S+ ThinQ includes 6GB of RAM and 256GB of base storage.
The most interesting part of these devices is that LG is already planning to bring the AI features to the standard V30 later this year. Granted, the update isn’t expected to arrive until September, but at least V30 owners know some new goodies are on the way.
As for LG’s other plans for 2018, the company supposedly showed off the LG G7 (codenamed ‘Judy’) behind closed doors at MWC 2018. The device is said to sport a notch of its own, along with standard 2018 flagship specs.
We’ll have to wait and see if LG’s new change of course will positively affect the company.
