Fitbit reportedly cancelling Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Core, refunds inbound

0

Those wondering about the fate of their Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Core pre-orders due to the Fitbit acquisition can get a better idea of what’s going on. Speaking on conditions of anonymity to Bloomberg, a Fitbit employee has suggested that the company will completely cancel plans to launch the 2 devices.

This is in line with the original word that Fitbit would look to phase out Pebble’s hardware completely. The company supposedly only wants Pebble for their patents and Timeline OS software to enhance their own fitness and smartwatch platform.

Those who pre-ordered the Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Core will get full refunds, so you can wipe some sweat off your brow if you were worried about that. The Pebble 2, on the other hand, has already shipped and it’s implied that they will look to fulfill any standing orders (which shouldn’t be a ton more considering Pebble stopped taking new orders a while ago).
