A new report from SamMobile states that Samsung is prepping to launch the newest Galaxy Note device on August 2nd. This lines up with previous Note launches, with the Galaxy Note 5 being announced on August 13th of last year.
The leaked image shows an advertisement for Galaxy Unpacked 2016, which is the event where Samsung unveils new devices.
As with the Galaxy S7 initial invitation, there’s a bit of a hint regarding the number 7. This is the biggest hint that we’ve seen as to what Samsung has planned for the next Note device.
We’ve heard rumors aplenty regarding the Galaxy Note 6/7, but this latest report also seems to confirm that Samsung will skip the Galaxy Note 6 numbering and go straight to the 7. This will allow for some continuity in branding, as it will line the device up with the regular Samsung Galaxy S7 series.
As for what’s to be expected out of the device? Here are some preliminary specs that have been rumored recently:
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 specs:
- 5.8-inch QHD curved edge display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor
- Iris Scanner
- IP68 Water Resistance
- USB Type-C charging port
- 4,000mAh battery
Also, at the bottom of the invitation, it appears that not only will Samsung be hosting an event in New York, but the event will be live-streamed for the world to see. Naturally, Samsung will be using its YouTube channel to make this happen, so you might want to bookmark that page now.
