Don’t look now, but one of the best puzzle games to ever be created has hit the Google Play Store. We’re talking about Limbo, a game from independent developer PlayDead. It’s not a Tetris or Dots type of puzzle game, mind you, but it is a puzzle game.
You’re put into the shoes of a boy whose job it is to find his lost sister. The problem is he woke up in a strange forest that doesn’t seem to take too kindly to, well, life in general. Deadly traps lay all throughout as you attempt to find your way through each section. Murderous creatures will attempt to go for blood.
The game’s art-style is beautiful. It’s a side-scrolling 2D perspective that represents itself with a very thin color palette — monotone. Black and white. Reminiscent of the old boob tubes from back in the 60s. It’s this shadowy representation that adds to the game’s mystique and atmosphere.
Don’t let the main character — a boy who looks 10 years away from puberty — fool you: this game is not for the faint of heart, nor is it meant for children. It’s brutally gruesome, unforgiving, and borderline disturbing. And it’ll probably be the best $5 you spend on an Android game this year. It’s sitting right here in the Google Play Store so be sure to give it a go if you’re looking for a great game to play in early 2015.
Not compatible w/ Droid Turbo?
Same for Droid MAXX.
Also not compatible with the Nexus 10. I’m assuming that incompatibility includes any device with a 2k screen (Works fine on my 2nd Gen Moto X).
Compatible w/ my Nexus 6 and it’s 2K screen.
It was incompatible with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 according to the Play Store. I sideloaded it from a backup, and it’s working fine so far.
Looks great, I loved BadLand and it has the same kind of feel to it.
One of the best games ever to hit android . Badland is good. Limbo is best :)
Will definitely be trying it after I get my taxes back so that I can afford it :)
Great game! Got it on my PS3 for $3 during a flash sale a few weeks ago. I can’t imagine trying to play it without a physical game controller though.
was just writing about that, I was watching a youtube video and it seems like u would need a controller to really play it
Yeah, it requires some precision jumping and reaction time. Some people can easily control touchscreen games, I can’t. Really fun and unique game though!
FINALLY! I just don’t have the time to sit in front of my PC to play this game.
I’ve been waiting for this a long time….
Ok will try it, wonder why no support for the Nexus 9
Played it on PC. It was fine with a keyboard but I had to connect a gamepad for maximum enjoyment. I wish there was more info on the back story and what happens next. Sequelllllll
This is embarrassing, the game’s been available on iOS for over 2 years now. Barely hitting android?
Been waiting for this for a while.
