Talk about the Saygus V2 at AndroidForums!
The Saygus V2’s presale floodgates were supposed to be opened last week, but some unknown issues kept that from happening. If you’re one of the many who were looking forward to ordering one of the most intriguing devices from CES 2015 then you can finally go ahead and do that.
Presales for the device have started, and to make up for the delay the company has even chopped $50 off its usual price tag of $599.99. That wad of cash gets you a 5-inch 1080p display, a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core chipset, 3GB of RAM 64GB internal storage, 2 micro SD card slots (up to 256GB of total expandable storage, yowza!), 21MP rear camera, 13MP front facing cameras, and a 3,100mAh battery.
Unfortunately there’s no clear shipping estimate just yet, though you will be asked to choose your preferred shipping options once the devices are ready to hit the trucks. For now, though, you can throw down your $550 knowing one of these will soon arrive to your doorstep. Not sure what to expect from the Saygus V2? Our hands-on experience from CES should give you a much better idea.
Holding out for reviews on this and the Zenfone 2. Might as well also wait on the M9 and GS6 while I’m at it…
If these were ready to ship now, Saygus wins. But not putting them in people’s hands until April (or IMO, May/June) puts them up against too much competition. Take the risk Saygus, front the cost for a thousand units, sell them to the pre-order folks so people can start talking about the V2. Not putting your own money out in front of the product release is essentially your way of saying “meh….it might not sell, or work, and I don’t trust my own business plan”. If people don’t start talking about it until Q2, it will be forgotten in the discussions of flagships announced at MWC. And the V2 specs by that time will be obsolete, too IMO. Screwed the pooch.
Yup this is exactly why I’m not preordering even though I’m very interested in the phone… if they went with the 810 then I would, but the 801 in a few months from now… no… :(
Hopefully it turns out to be amazing and doesn’t take spring to ship. I would rather wait and pay 50 bucks more if I want it after I know for sure.
Looks like a pretty dope 5″ phone, but it’s too rich for my blood. Plus that design at the bottom edge of the back looks like a water stain.
Everyone should just take a wait and see attitude with this phone. The $50 discount is nothing if you end up with a poorly made phone. Since most new devices have build issue coming out of the first batch, letting someone else buy from the bad batch is a better idea. I would also wait for an in- debt review from a major android site as well.
I don’t want an in-debt review, though. I already have enough debt to worry about without it being in my desired reviews.
“I don’t want an in-debt review…”
Le sigh, it’s 2015. I think you mean “in-depth (or “in depth”) review”…
Unless you were attempting a pun of a joke…
