Can’t say this 100% foreshadows imminent Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 announcements, but the latest Nexus phone and tablets are no longer in stock on Google Play. The Nexus 5 is showing out of inventory for all 16GB models, while there are no versions of the Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 currently in stock. The 32GB Nexus 5 is still available for shipping in 1-2 business days for all color variants.
Considering these devices should be readily available at this point (nearly a full year from their initial launches) it’s quite odd for them to be so short on inventory. This would lead us to believe that Google is getting ready to retire the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 as their flagship Nexus devices on the Play Store and make room for the new breeds.
Inventory adjustment also suggests that the new devices will be made available for purchase almost as soon as the announcement goes live, though we’ll obviously have to wait for official word to see if that ends up being the case. Another thing this could hint toward are price adjustments to make the older devices cheaper once the newer ones hit the digital store shelves. The Nexus 5 would still be a fine phone for anyone at a cool $300. The only thing we can advise you to do is make sure your Google Wallet account is up to date, make sure your funds are up to snuff and make sure that trigger finger is ready to fire on the point of sale later today.

I was noticing the same thing last night, and thinking 11am PDT here we come. I can’t say I’m going to get an N6, though, I’m just mainly excited for L.

The Nexus 10 has been out for like, 2 years now hasn’t it?
I didn’t want it to feel left out of the story. ;)
And the nexus 7 was sold out for a long time as well (a few weeks) and the nexus 5 16GB was sold out a few days ago but came back in stock and was sold out today.
I was hoping for a price drop on the N5, it’s still a great phone and was thinking of picking one up
Didnt they slash the Nexus 4 price by $100 at some point. If that happens to the N5, it would be a felony to buy one!
I don’t need a phone ATM,but,a $100 slash off the 32GB version would be hard to pass up.I have a friend whose GN2 is on life support,this would fill in nicely.
I’m guessing the N5/16GB option wasn’t exactly flying off the shelves @any point,with GOOGLE selling what was on-hand/keeping stock for returns,& avoiding the money-losing fire sale.
All 16 gig versions of the N5 have been out for weeks now and both tablets, all versions have been out even longer. I think the only N7 version available is the GSM 32 gig.

Maybe only 32gb N5 will be offered and the price will reduced to the 16gb price.
With the new pricing on the nexus 6 they don’t need to lower the price.
Here we go folks…i can see the shelves all emptied out and carts full of multiple sizes of shiny new Nexus devices (think maybe 3 sizes…a Phone, a Phablet and a Tablet) making their way up the Play store shelves. Dreaming folks….wake me up this afternoon : )

Google is due for a new large tablet. They never did a refresh of the Nexus 10, IIRC.
I have the 2013 Nexus 7 and like it. Wanting a 10-12″ tablet now
