The experience of using an iPhone on Windows isn’t as good compared to on a Mac. This is kind of an obvious move on Apple’s part, but the good news is that if you’re an iPhone user on Windows, then you might want to check out the latest update to the Phone Link app.
In an announcement on the Windows Blog, Microsoft has revealed an update to the Phone Link app. With this update, iPhone users will be able to use Phone Link to seamlessly share files between their smartphone and their Windows 10 or Windows 11 PCs. This should make file transfers a lot smoother and easier.
Prior to this, Phone Link did support Apple’s smartphones. However, its use was kind of limited. Users could only make calls or send messages from their computers. This is versus Android support for Phone Link which was noticeably more comprehensive and functional. With this update, iPhone users should be more on par with their Android counterparts.
That being said, if you’re not a fan of Phone Link, there are other ways you can send files to and from your iPhone to your PC. You could always use a cloud service like iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, all of which have their own PC apps that you can then sync with your smartphone.
The only problem with cloud storage is that it’s a lot slower for larger files, plus you have to wait for the files to sync. Either way, iPhone users now have at least one more option to choose from.
