Verizon is the latest carrier to pick up the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and just in time for the holidays. Priced at $499, the LTE-enabled version of the slate is set to ship by November 26th. Verizon is not offering the tablet (or any, for that matter) with subsidized contract pricing. Instead, a month-to-month data plan or Share Anything plan with tablet access is required to take advantage of the device’s cellular connection.
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 features a 10.1-inch 720p HD display and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The version Verizon is selling comes with 8GB of internal storage (thankfully, microSD expandability adds to the total storage capacity). The tablet also features a 3.2MP rear camera and VGA front-facing camera. You can use either or transfer your own photos from another source to take advantage of the slate’s photo sharing features, which Verizon is touting this holiday season.
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 recently launched on T-Mobile’s network and is also available from AT&T and Sprint. You can catch up on what’s good with the slate by heading over to our very own AndroidForums.
Don’t buy it, i have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, luv the hardware, hate the fact that i am still stuck on Android version 3.2, was supposed to get an update to ICS 1 month ago however it failed and no resolution in sight. horrible customer service..
I had the galaxy tab 7.7 for a little bit ended up selling it. Dude, if you really want ICS follow the perfect instructions here!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932597 It couldn’t be any easier. I did this to mine because I was going through the failed ICS upgrade as well. I can vouch that this XDA link is legit and it is worth the little bit of work to get ICS. Good luck!
You have a SAMOLED+ Screen though! the best screen on any tablet!
Shouldn’t have sold it. Plenty of xda support for the Galaxy Tabs. They are even getting official nightlies of CM10 (JellyBean)
who would but this?
with the galaxy tab 2 7.0 (original 349.00) going for 99.00 (basically 250.00 savings) on verizons black friday, why didnt verizon just add the galaxy tab 2 10.0 to their inventory starting on black friday and adjust the pricing and match the 250.00 discount off of the tab 2 2 7.0 and apply it to the tab 2 10.0 for a black friday price of 249.00?
the galaxy tab is just not in the game..
