I guess the quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor isn’t the only thing the upcoming LG Optimus G has going for it. The South Korean manufacturer took to YouTube yesterday to upload a quick video touting the Optimus G’s 13MP camera, delivering what LG believes will be the “world’s best image quality.” There’s a lot of technicals behind it, but if you’re curious to see the tech behind LG’s claims, check out the video below.
Have to say, I’m glad to see companies step up their smartphone camera game. As an owner of the Galaxy Nexus with arguably one of the world’s worst cameras (okay, it really isn’t that bad), I do get jealous of how amazing my buddy’s HTC One X can deliver bright, crystal clear images. Guess that’s one less area of concern when it comes to LG’s upcoming flagship.
In case you’ve forgotten, variants of the Optimus G are rumored to arrive stateside later this year with the Sprint bound LG Eclipse leaked all over the place. Now if only LG could somehow prove themselves with timely software updates, we’ll have another big Android contender here in the states.
I also have a Galaxy Nexus, and it is that bad.
Low light, yes. Daylight, it’s quite nice. Jelly Bean seems to have improved quality.

I’d still take a Nexus over any other phone. I’d rather have an iPhone 5 than something other than a Nexus ever again after getting burned and fooled with no updates or ICS kernel source on my HTC.

It’ll have a nice camera, display, and guts. The UI will still be egh. I hope this works for them as for as success.
the software can be manipulated the hardware cant, we can just port pure jellybean later. Software keys, A nice display, a good camera and an awesome processor not to mention design wise it looks like a galaxy s2 and a galaxy nexus had a baby, its the complete package. I’m crossing my fingers LG doesn’t fudge this up
LG is always first with new hardware, like dual core, quad core and HD display and now 13mp camera, but LG touchwiz ui wannabe is too ugly. Here is hoping Lg fixed the ui and best of luck to LG.
Don’t fall for it, LG makes promises and doesn’t keep them, LG’s way of doing business.
Just get a dedicated camera and call it a day, don’t bait and switch these people

Does LG skin there Androids? Never even seen one.
Their lower end devices were always stock (even some mid-range ones like the LG Viper). Recently, a few have slipped through the cracks with that god-awful pseudo TouchWiz UI but that’s only on their Gingerbread devices.
With ICS, they’ve overhauled their UI making it look much more pretty and minimal. Compliments Google’s Holo theme well.
If only google would have LG make their next Nexus phone… Hardcore software with vanilla jelly bean
