The design of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds series of true wireless earbuds have been pretty unique. They lack the stem design that we’ve seen in competing earbuds, like the AirPods. But recent rumors have suggested that Samsung could adopt that design for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and now a leak by Evan Blass might have confirmed it.
The leak shows what appears to be a mosaiced image of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro where the stem is very obviously visible. Based on some of the comments, it seems that not everyone is too thrilled with this new design. We’ll admit that the previous design helped keep the overall footprint pretty small.

However, by incorporating a stem, there could be additional benefits. For starters, Samsung could move the microphones to the stem which makes it closer to the user’s mouth. This will help with voice pickup and overall clarity. It could also, in turn, free up space in the main portion of the earbuds and allow for a bigger battery or additional features.
We can’t confirm if those are things coming to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, but it’s a possibility. In any case, we should have more details next month. Samsung is rumored to host a Galaxy Unpacked event in July to unveil its new foldables. Other devices like the new Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch are also rumored to make an appearance.
