Despite being a new player in the EV industry, it looks like Xiaomi’s SU7 is off to a good start, both literally and figuratively. The company recently announced that it has sold its 10,000th vehicle, keeping it on a steady pace towards its goal of 100,000 shipped EVs for this year.

The announcement was made by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who shared the news on his official Twitter/X account.

At a recent investor conference, it was announced that Xiaomi is targeting 100,000 deliveries of the SU7 for 2024; as such, delivery for the standard model and Max model commenced at the end of April, while the company plans to start shipping out the Pro model by the end of May.

Xiaomi added that its manufacturing plant – currently in development – will be completed within two phases, in addition to annual production capacity of 150,000 units for Phase 1 and Phase 2. The first phase of the plant was completed in June 2023 last year. The Xiaomi SU7 was launched back in March,  and starts at around $29,800 for the standard model.
