The Pokémon GO update fans have waited may arrive soon

0

It has been the moment that trainers have been waiting for since the announcement of Pokémon GO back in 2016. Get ready to rediscover Pokémon GO through its newest social media campaign, #RediscoverGO. This update is sectioned into 4 distinct parts, which hope to cater to fans’ requests for specific updates to the beloved app for years now.

Rediscover Yourself

The first rollout will be happening globally on April 17, 2024, centring around character customisation for the player avatar. This may not sound like big news, but you can be assured there is. Outside of simple swaps for t-shirts and accessories – there has not been an option for any form of robust customisation in Pokémon GO for your Avatar. As a result of this, everyone looks largely the same. The sneak peeks we get of this update in the trailer show a brand new option for more hairstyles and other options that will allow your character to shine through.

Rediscover Your World

This update is due to be released on the 22nd of April but the details on it are a little scarce. All we know about is that there will be visual updates to the overall look and feel of Pokémon GO. It also promises to be more “ecologically accurate” which would imply that there will be more Pokémon based on their real-world surroundings. For example, this could mean finding more water Pokémon near the sea. In real terms, we will just have to wait and see!

Rediscover Kanto

As part of the slew of updates; there is a new campaign reintroducing the original 151 Pokémon . This will launch on the same day as the Rediscover Your World update. This reintroduction of the first Pokémon from Pokémon Red and Blue will highlight the ecologically accurate dimensions allowing you to explore Kanto to its fullest.

Rediscover Your Reality

The Rediscover Your Reality update is interesting for a few reasons. Firstly, it doesn’t release until May 7th 2024. Secondly, it centers around Pokémon GO’s snapshot feature. This is where you can place an AR version of your Pokémon in your immediate surroundings using your phone’s camera. It’s a cute feature that has had updates over the years. It’s most recent one is where you can toggle a mode for it to blend into the furniture more seamlessly than its traditional mode. No more awkwardly clipping into your sofa when trying to get a cute shot! We know the least about this mode – all it says is “Turn your world into a backdrop for Pokémon photos with the revamped GO Snapshot feature.” So we will soon see what is in store for the new Snapshot Mode!

Needless to say there has never been a better time to be a GO player! So join us for the fun as a whole new adventure is waiting to begin!
