Nothing Phone (2a) will see a limited US release

0

The Nothing Phone (2a) has been confirmed for a March 5 announcement. If you like Nothing’s approach to phones but want a cheaper model, this could be it. Unfortunately, if you’re living in the US, it seems that it could be difficult to get your hands on the phone as the Nothing Phone (2a) US release will be limited.

What do we mean by limited? According to Nothing, the Nothing Phone (2a) will see a release in the US as part of their “Developer Program”. This sounds similar to how the company launched the Nothing Phone (1) in the US under a “beta membership” program. Also, the name of this new program sounds like it could only be available to developers.

How will customers prove that they are developers is unclear so we’ll have to wait for the launch for those details. We’re not sure why Nothing is holding back on releasing the phone on a wider scale in the US. It is possible that since they’re a fairly new company, they aren’t prepared to produce a lot of phones to cover all the markets.

The US market is one of the major markets that most smartphone makers tend to target. It is possible that the cheaper price of the Nothing Phone (2a) is more appealing in developing markets. Maybe Nothing could have chosen to focus their energy and resources there. Either way, we’ll have those details on the 5th of March so check back with us then for updates.
