ROG Phone 8 Specs and Design Leaked Online

0

Not too long after ASUS announced a giveaway competition for the upcoming ROG Phone 8, new leaks about the yet-to-be-released gaming phone have been spotted online, courtesy of the folks over at Windows Report.

The leaks reveal the ROG Phone’s design from all angles, which showcase a rather different look from previous models such as the 6 and 7. Gone is the overly gamer-centric design which featured an angular look with sharp accents and colors – instead, the ROG Phone 8 features a more subtle approach, although there’s still a considerably-sized ROG logo on the rear panel, which will likely feature built-in lighting.

For hardware, the phone is expected to pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip inside with an Adreno 750 GPU and 12GB of RAM, although it’s predicted that a Pro model will also be available with up to 24GB of RAM. Storage starts at 256GB, and maxes out at 1TB for the Pro model.

The phone will also pack a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a maximum 165Hz refresh rate, in addition to HDR10 support, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. For optics, there’s a triple rear camera setup with a Sony IMX890 50 MP main sensor, 13 MP ultrawide, and 32MP third camera with 3X optical zoom, as well as a 32MP front camera.

As with previous models, the ROG Phone 8 will be compatible with accessories designed exclusively for the device – this includes a protective case which can accommodate an AeroActive Cooler X, which should keep the phone well-ventilated for extended gaming sessions.

No price has been given at the moment, but we can expect the phone to make an appearance during CES 2024, at least according to the report.
