Samsung’s next Galaxy Buds could rival the Pixel Buds with this handy feature

One of the pretty awesome features of Google’s Pixel Buds is its ability to translate languages on the fly. This is useful if you’re in a foreign country and want to be able to hear what the locals are saying without having to take out your phone.

The good news is that it looks like Samsung could be planning something similar for its next Galaxy Buds, at least that’s what a report from the Maeil Business Newspaper is claiming. The report says that Samsung is developing a new pair of Galaxy Buds that will be able to perform real-time translations using on-device AI.

This means that if you’re overseas and don’t have an internet connection, the earbuds will still be able to process what the other person is saying and translate it accordingly. Samsung has recently teased how its Galaxy S24 series will be an AI-powered phone with AI translation capabilities, so it’s not a stretch to think that they could bring the feature to their Galaxy Buds earbuds as well.

Samsung didn’t launch a refresh of its Galaxy Buds this year. Instead, the company introduced the Galaxy Buds FE and updated the existing lineup with new accessibility features, so it is possible that we could see a refresh in 2024 either launching alongside the Galaxy S24 smartphones or maybe later in the year, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
